24" Mac and sharing

So I've been playing with the new 24" 2.33 2gb 750 gb Hard drive iMac.

What can I say wow what a great picture it really is beautiful showing off my pictures I never knew that they could look so good!.

So the transition has really begun, my family now have there own user logons and that's where things became just a little sticky.

Firstly iTunes of course I do not want to duplicate all that music I have, who does, and so I had to move the iTunes library, in-fact I moved the complete iTunes folder onto the Share folder under Users, I then logged into the users held the alt (option) key when opening iTunes, at first I was concerned that all the music would get duplicated but the only real issue was with the podcasts seemingly having a problem, one I've to work out yet. But everything else apart from playlists seems fine, and the playlists is not a real issue as each user seems to be able to arrange their own playlist so fine. Will need to do more testing on importing and purchasing music and making sure it all is visible on the other users, watch this space, figuratively speaking of course.
All of this was simple after I had made sure that the users were added to the sharing and permissions with read write to the Sharing and permissions tab in get info, that took a little while to sort to be honest!

Now iPhoto great easy simple got this one sorted right away, HOWEVER the sharing was fine the KEYWORDS was not, where are they, I've done all the work via my user account, but all that tagging doesn't seem to get shared, WHAT, come on this should be simple, again watch this space because that really does need sorting!

Ical NIGHTMARE, I cannot find where the users can see a common iCal calendar, I don't want a .MAC account we are all on one machine I just want everyone to have access to one central calendar, again watch this space, because I can't believe that, as the Apple people say "It Just Works", when it most obviously does not!
