Peterborough with a powerful pack and a well drilled set of backs took a lead in the first half 17-7 with Scouts scoring charged down try right at the end of the half, this seemed to have a greater effect on Scouts than Peterborough. Scouts in the 2nd have got a better grip on the game and combine that with Peterborough possibly taking their foot off the peddle the final score was 24-17 to Peterborough in the end this was a good game both to watch and to Ref.

Bedford School U14 a Vs Warwick School U14 a 15:00

10:30 Game.

This looked like being a close game from the KO, the game swung both ways but the main reason that NSB lost the game was their incosistant kicking of the ball, they basically kicked away pocession in the late stages of the game and gave BV too much momentum which they finaly took full use of. Good control from both sides, another game that was a pleasure to ref.

15:00 Game.

Wasn’t sure quite what to expect but these were both well drilled and prepared teams that just wanted to play rugby, although the score looks one sided the game certasinly seem that way and I again have to congratulate both teams especially on the discipline at Rucks and Mauls.

Although this game was a little one sided when you look at the score line, Olney had a young side that did keep trying all the way through the game, and Towcester had to work through out. Good clean game with no cards and no hit of a card needed. Thanks guys great game considering the weather!

First Full Game of the 08/09 Season

So this was the first game of the season for me it was a good first game especially as this was the first time with the ELV’s for the teams and myself.

The game at stages was a little scrappy but overall a great contest with Wellingborough winning 10-5, the ELV’s made the Lineouts a little scrappy, and I held up the scrums a second or two longer to check the position of the backs, but enjoyed the first game.

Touch Rugby and other Stuff

But for some this was the first time and they wondered just if the details were as bad as being reported, like did the people really fight that much, was the fixer really like that, how much drink did they really get through!

The time came and early one morning the car was started and a couple of the group were picked up on route to the airport, actually these guys were a laugh this was going to be OK, but how many monkeys could we get through?

The main group met and it seemed that the ape trading was already in progress at the bottom of an escalator, bunches of people chattering together and unable to move as the doors were not being opened, at last we were free and running to the plane, seats taken it seemed that we were not the only ones heading to the jamboree, others to were heading to that same country.

...After finally arriving at the hotel the group gathered at the venue and beers were consumed, was this Dutch courage before choosing your ape, I wasn’t sure, the rain came down hard, real hard, so all decided that it was best to stay for a while longer before heading into town and the market.

...Kit was handed out and games took place throughout the day, ah I see all I have to do is ref and Copenhagen wasn’t such a bad place after all the sun shone and apart from the brawl on pitch 3 (and hey they all knew each other I’m not saying anything about in breeding) everyone else seemed to be enjoying themselves. ... It must happen this evening at a meal, nope that was an Indian and no adoption papers were handed out yet, the final day came preliminary’s Semi’s and then the Final’s came were enjoyed and reffed to the highest standards (well we were on tour)!

So what is all this about adopting a monkey nothing was going to happen, livestock had come and gone (on the pitches) and although some of them looked a little ape like, they were all to old to adopt SURELY!
